Chittorgarh, Udaipur

Temple of Rama, Lakshman and Sita
In Chittorgarh, I first went to the Meerabai temple which was built by her husband. It was very beautiful, but small from the inside. There were many monkeys around the temple. I had to be careful with my shoes!

Right next to the Meerabai temple was another temple which used to be a Vishnu temple but now has Rama, Lakshman and Sita. It was really nice and the sculptures were amazing.

Vijaya Stambha
We then went to the Vijaya Stambha (Tower of Victory which was a 7-storey tower to commemorate the victory of Rana Khumba. We are allowed to go inside this tower until the top, but I went only until the 4th floor.

Shiva Temple
There was also a Shiva temple I had visited which had a beautiful Shiva idol with big eyes.

Then, there was the Main Gate of the fort which I went to. It had holes on the walls so that archers can shoot enemies easily.

Queen's palace
Lastly, we saw then queen's palace which was surrounded by a small lake. The water was very dirty and the king had to go to her palace by boat. The stairs going to the boat were still there.
Carvings in Shiva temple

Our tour in Chittorgarh ended when we stopped at the Indian Clothing shop.

  1. Nice journal blog.

Addendum -- Chitoorgarh fort was attacked by Alauddin Khilji who defaced nearly 200 temples inside the fort. Of course, Rana Kumbha won it back, but later it remained the only one fort that Maharana Pratap wasn't able to win back.

DAY 1 We had to reach school at 6 am in the morning. We left from school at 7. The ride was quite smooth. We did immigration at Tuas checkpoint. As soon as you do immigration you're in Johor. As Singapore is an island, it is separated from Malaysia. So, there  had to be a bridge connecting these both. On the bridge to enter Malaysia, there was heavy traffic. We had to wait for about 40 minutes to reach across in Malaysia. Later after doing a security baggage check in the Malaysian checkpoint, we had to board another bus.  After boarding into another bus, five minutes later, we went to a B&B which is a breakfast place and a shop. I  bought few items there. The items were very cheap there as compared to Singapore. But, I didn't buy any breakfast there. In Genting we we...
