Amulet

'Amulet' is a graphic novel series written by the #1 Bestselling New York Times author, Kazu Kibuishi. It is published by Scholastic. The first book of the series was published on January 1, 2008.

The Amulet series is about a girl, Emily Hayes who discovers a magical amulet in her great-grandfather Silas Charnon's house.

The books are to be read in the following order:

  1. The Stonekeeper

  5. Prince of the Elves
  6. Escape from Lucien
  7. Firelight
  8. Supernova (releasing soon)
These graphic novels are truly engaging and beautifully illustrated by Kazu Kibushi.

Trip to Genting Highlands, Malaysia

On a school excursion, I  went to Genting Highlands from 23rd of September to 25th of September, 2 nights and 3 days. My school, Global Indian International School were taking us by coach. DAY 1 We had to reach school at 6 am in the morning. We left from school at 7. The ride was quite smooth. We did immigration at Tuas checkpoint. As soon as you do immigration you're in Johor. As Singapore is an island, it is separated from Malaysia. So, there  had to be a bridge connecting these both. On the bridge to enter Malaysia, there was heavy traffic. We had to wait for about 40 minutes to reach across in Malaysia. Later after doing a security baggage check in the Malaysian checkpoint, we had to board another bus.  After boarding into another bus, five minutes later, we went to a B&B which is a breakfast place and a shop. I  bought few items there. The items were very cheap there as compared to Singapore. But, I didn't buy any breakfast there. In Genting we we...

Book review - The Eyes Of The Eagle by Ruskin Bond

THE EYES OF THE EAGLE Jai was grazing his sheep in the Tung meadows when he heard the loud, echoing call of a Golden Eagle. He gathered four sheep together to send them inside. But, where was his fifth one? The Golden Eagle had taken it. When this happened he reported it to his grandfather. Grandfather wasn’t very sad at all. He said that this was sure to happen someday. For protection, his grandfather gave him a stick. The Eyes Of The Eagle He later noticed, that the Golden Eagle had also clawed Motu, Jai’s dog. Motu was bleeding quite a bit. Jai wrapped his handkerchief around Jai’s leg and carried him to grandfather’s house. Can Jai use the stick to prevent the Golden Eagle from taking more sheep? Read the book to find out! This book is for people aged 7+. I rate it 9/10 as it is written very well and the illustrations are very beautiful. I like that he is not afraid of the Eagle.
