Fact File - United States of America

Hello viewers! This is a new thing I have started, called Fact File. My cousin and I have been working on this. Fact file includes the location, government,  places to visit and the culture of the country. This is the first fact file post. If you like this, post a *thumbs up* in the comments below.

LOCATION OF USA

The United States is the third largest country in the world and is the second largest in North America. Its geographic location is 37.0902° N and 95.7129° W. It gets hot weather during June through September, warm weather during September, October, March, and April, and cold weather during November through February. 

It is located between Mexico and Canada.

GOVERNMENT OF USA

The United States acquired independence on July 4, 1776. The current president of the United States is Donald J. Trump and the First Lady is Melania Trump. The first president of the US was George Washington.

The currency used in the US is the US dollar.

Some beautiful places to visit in the USA are-


Image result for nycNew York City - Located in the state of New York and its core being Manhattan, New York City is a densely populated city with financial, commercial and cultural centres. It has iconic sites like the Empire State Building, Central Park, Broadway Theater and Times Square. 

Disney World/Disney Land - The Walt Disney World Resort is an entertainment complex in Florida. Disney Land was first built in California in 1955. It is the only theme park designed by Walt Disney.

Grand Canyon - The Grand Canyon National Park, located in Arizona, is a famous landmark of the USA. The view from the top is said to be spectacular.

Image result for mount rushmoreMount Rushmore - It is a carved sculpture on a mountain located in South Dakota. It features 4 presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. It is a really popular place to visit over the summer. It is 5725 feet above sea level.

Las Vegas - Las Vegas is the 28th most popular city in the United States. It is located in Nevada. Over here, you can visit a huge casino and the famous Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. There is also a Paris inspired part of Las Vegas which features the Eiffel Tower!

Los Angeles - Los Angeles is a South-Californian city and centre of US' television and film industry. It is known for its 'HOLLYWOOD' sign and has studios for Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers and Universal.

Washington D.C - Washington is the home of the White House, and the president, Donald J. Trump. You can also visit places like Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the World War II Memorial.

Honolulu - Honolulu is the capital of Hawaii. The centre of Honolulu is the Waikiki neighbourhood and is featured for shopping and dining. People do snorkelling and scuba diving in the beautiful waters. Sites like the USS Arizona Memorial are there which are for the World War II Pearl Harbour Attacks.

San Francisco - It is a hilly city in Northern California, on the tip of the peninsula. It's known for its year-round fog, iconic Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colourful Victorian houses. The Financial District's Transamerica Pyramid is its most distinctive skyscraper.

LANGUAGE AND RELIGION

The most spoken languages in the United States are English, Spanish, Chinese and French. Three-quarters of the people in the US are Christians.

Book review - The Eyes Of The Eagle by Ruskin Bond

THE EYES OF THE EAGLE Jai was grazing his sheep in the Tung meadows when he heard the loud, echoing call of a Golden Eagle. He gathered four sheep together to send them inside. But, where was his fifth one? The Golden Eagle had taken it. When this happened he reported it to his grandfather. Grandfather wasn’t very sad at all. He said that this was sure to happen someday. For protection, his grandfather gave him a stick. The Eyes Of The Eagle He later noticed, that the Golden Eagle had also clawed Motu, Jai’s dog. Motu was bleeding quite a bit. Jai wrapped his handkerchief around Jai’s leg and carried him to grandfather’s house. Can Jai use the stick to prevent the Golden Eagle from taking more sheep? Read the book to find out! This book is for people aged 7+. I rate it 9/10 as it is written very well and the illustrations are very beautiful. I like that he is not afraid of the Eagle.
